Originally launched in 2005, as a rival for both the Sony PSP and Nintendo's DS, the Gizmondo never quite got its chance to shine as they quickly disappeared from the shelves, not because of sales but because the company hit a financial problem and unfortunately sank into liquidation. All units were re-called and the Gizmondo passed by leaving most people unaware of its existence.
